Sandra Nansambu, who is known for leaving a lasting impression, did not disappoint at Friday’s Akatuuti POA Star Edition.
‘Akatuuti’ is a program that aims to give budding Ugandan creators a platform to develop their skills and gain exposure.
Nansambu Sandra, Carsten Yesuanjagala, Ebrahim Soul’ O, Tracy Melon, Agami Tony, and Bruce Dickson were among the finalists in the Pearl of Africa Star Search this month.
Sandra Nansambu’s performance at the Alliance Française de Kampala’s monthly Akatuuti sessions left fans wanting more.
Sandra, who is in her senior year of high school, wowed the audience with a 90-minute performance with fellow POAstar candidates.
Sandra began the show with a Kiganda dance accompanied by a team of female dancers, followed by her fellow POAstar Finalists with an emotional cover of their Hope song
Carsten Yesuanjagala, the competition’s first runner-up, wowed the audience with his exciting dance moves and vocal prowess while performing his “Pearl of Africa Anthem,” which has yet to be released.
The Finalists then performed covers of the Northern and Western Regional Stars’ songs “Oh Uganda” and “Mwijje.”,
Following the ensemble performance, the audience was treated to a female duet by Tracy Melon and Sandra, who performed “Green,” a song about climate change that was performed in commemoration of World Earth Day the day before (April 22nd).
She also performed a Kiganda dance before singing her debut single, “Kitandika Nawe,” an uplifting song encouraging everyone to achieve their dreams.
Sandra, a Senior Six student with a limb handicap who exudes the confidence of an international icon, takes over the stage like she was born for it at the end of the 90-minute show.
