Sheebah Karungi disclosed in a video posted on her social media platforms on Monday that she had been sexually abused by a prominent Ugandan man.
Sheebah was enraged when the man in issue approached her car with his security crew and inappropriately grabbed her shortly before she came on stage to perform at an event.
My beloved, you are a SURVIVOR, putting the world on FIRE with your TRUTH, and you never know who needs your LIGHT and your RAGING COURAGE.
Despite not disclosing the offender’s identity, Sheebah warned people to cease sexually harassing musicians.
“You better RESPECT MY BODY no matter what you think when you see me on stage or in any of my films dressed the way I dress up.” It’s MINE, and I can do whatever I want with it. NO, YOU DO NOT. You can observe, but you CANNOT TOUCH. “#WomenAreNotObjects,” Sheebah’s Facebook post said.
“Don’t tell ladies what to wear. “Tell men to respect women and their bodies,” the self-proclaimed Swagg Mama replied gracefully.
Tuff B, a fellow artist and TV personality, agrees with her.
The Dolphin Foundation CEO praised Sheebah for speaking out against the growing vice in the business in a Facebook post.
He requested that other celebrities join him in breaking the silence and condemning sexual harassment and violence against Ugandans.
There appears to be an IMPENETRABLE wall of Quiet and Ignorance around VIOLENCE towards all Ugandans, regardless of level, profession, or class, and we must all play a ROLE in BREAKING this silence.
Sheebah, you are not a VICTIM for telling your story. My beloved, you are an SURVIVOR, putting the world on FIRE with your TRUTH, and you never know who needs your LIGHT and your RAGING COURAGE.
