According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the conflict arose as a result of a minor accident.
“Preliminary information gathered indicates that while attempting to park at the bar, Captain Namara brushed Bebe Cool’s vehicle, forcing the latter to exit the vehicle and a disagreement ensued,” Owoyesigyire said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We have obtained the CCTV footage and are reviewing it to determine whether a gun was drawn, as Bebe Cool claims.” We are also investigating the allegation of a physical exchange between the two parties, which may have attracted the attention of other friends.”
Owoyesigyire went on to say that they had contacted Bebe Cool and obtained his version of events.
“We also found Captain Namara at Gemini Medical Center, and as soon as he stabilizes, we will be able to record his statement.”
He also stated that the six security officers accused of assaulting Namara are in their custody.
“We advise drivers to be extra cautious when reacting to traffic incidents because emotions can endanger one’s life.” “Since then, we have taken action against six officers who responded and escalated the situation at Ntinda Police Station,” he said.
They are currently being held by the Railway Police. More information will be made available in due course.”
On Sunday, the ‘Gyenvudde‘ singer revealed on his social media account that he was shot by an errant motorist/security officer who drew a gun on him.
Bebe Cool stated on Facebook that the man wanted to shoot him after crashing his car.
However, he stated that during the course of events, they were able to disarm the plain clothes officer, who was later arrested by police.
“He was later transported to the ntinda police station.”
“The police officer immediately asked me to go make a statement at the station,” Bebe Cool said on Sunday morning.
“They ordered me to leave the premises and almost shot at me.” I had to sprint to my car, and the driver drove away. “I’ve been told that the culprit was taken away from the police station by his mates,” the singer added before posting a 27-second video of the suspect’s face.
