The final between Julius Borore and Joram Tumwine and Patrick Ndase and Philemon Akatuhurira are scheduled for next month and is expected to be highly competitive.
While Borore/Tumwine required a third playoff hole to defeat Brian Cable and James O’Sullivan, the Ndase/Akatuhurira team faced little difficulty in defeating them 7–6.
Hundreds of golfers competed in the wildly famous Singleton Match Play Challenge, where James Akhonya, Ssubi Kiwanuka, and Nicholas Kebba won in groups A, B, and C for men, respectively.
In the women’s division, Joan Julia Napewo won with 39 points in Group A, and Mikal Kombo won with 50 points while playing with a 54-point handicap in Group B. Ignatius Twesigye and Peace Kabasweka were recognized for having the longest drives for men and ladies respectively on the tournament’s colorful 19th hole.
The winners for being closest to the pin were Moureen Okura and Emmanuel Mugabi. Ronald Rugumayo, perhaps the best golfer in the nation right now, and Silver Opio will compete in the professional final.
On Friday, Opio defeated quickly rising Rodell Gaita while Rugumayo defeated Abraham Ainamani.

Men’s subgroup: James Akhonya scored 42 points, Ssubi Kiwanuka scored 43 points, and Nicholas Kebba scored 44 points.
Group A Joan Nampewo scored 39 points in the women’s subsidiary, and Group B Mikal Kombo scored 50 points.
