A woman can be seen repeatedly striking a young child with a shoe and yelling insults at the child in a 1:56 video.
The two-year-old child falls headfirst out of the basin, onto the verandah, and then to the ground. Despite this, the resentful mother continues to beat the child violently with the shoe while pleading with her to get up and take a bath.
She throws the shoe anywhere it will land, including the child’s head, face, back, and arms.
On Friday night, after seeing the video, a number of social media users started posting it on various platforms and denouncing the woman’s aggressive actions.
The video was also shared on Twitter by a few media figures, including Faridah Nakazibwe of NTV Uganda and Isaac Katende, also known as Kasuku, of Dembe FM.
They urged their followers to spread the video so that it could reach the proper authorities and lead to the woman’s arrest and prosecution.
Police verified that they had detained the woman in the video a few hours later. Dorothy Nabulime has been recognized as the woman.
