As MC Kats celebrates his birthday today, a number of artists have opted to offer him money, in response to a plea from his coworker Sheilah Gashumba. (Mc Kats honored Sheilah Gashumba’s request for money on his birthday)
Sheilah posted on Twitter that individuals should be given their flowers while they can still hold them. She then ordered that everyone in the entertainment industry give the MC at least Shs 500,000 each.
“Let’s give them their flowers while they can smell them; 500,000 birthday challenge from everyone in the industry for @mckatsug” (his birthday is 1st June). He is always promoting Ugandan music!! So, the challenge begins at 12:01 a.m.!! Sheilah Gashumba asked entertainers to reward Mc Kats with 500k – 0782877897.
And, because Kats has been in the profession since the beginning of time, he has worked with a plethora of artists. Several celebrities responded to the call and began contributing money to Kats.
Alex Muhangi, a comedian, was among those who gave money to MC Kats, sending Shs 705000. TNS CEO Jeff Kiwa made a donation of Shs500,000. Cask Lounge and Restaurant contributed Shs 1 million and Nina Roz contributed Shs 500,000 to the Uganda AIDS Commission ambassador.
Others, including fans and members of the music industry, continue to send him money. Kats also requested his followers to tag anyone who could help him finish his children’s house.
Many artists only have great stories about Kats to tell. This is due to the fact that he was a rock in their careers when no one believed them. In essence, many more people would send him money since they admire and respect him in Uganda’s music industry.
