Ronald Alimpa, a budding artist, is in serious trouble after being accused of misconduct and missing a gig last weekend. (Ronald Alimpa was arrested for missing a show)
An event promoter only identified as Tonny accuses Ronald Alimpa of failing to appear at a show he had booked for Kasenge at Cabana Bar on May 31st.
Tonny, the promoter, is accused of agreeing to pay Shs500k for Ronald Alimpa’s services, paying a Shs200k deposit, and leaving with a balance of UGX 300K to be cleared upon the singer’s arrival at the venue.
When Ronald Alimpa and his entourage arrived at the venue, they discovered that the event had sold out and sought an additional Shs200k before he could take the stage.
The promoter joined Ronald Alimpa and his team in their car to discuss the payment, but it did not end well.
Tonny claims that Ronald Alimpa and his crew drove him to a particular point and pinned him to cough over an additional Shs200k in order for Alimpa to perform, but he refused.
He was then abandoned in a neighboring wood and left alone late at night before finding his own way back to the site.
The charge was filed at Kasenge Police Station by promoter Tonny, and Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango corroborated the reports.
Ronald Alimpa appears to be facing allegations of gaining money by deception and harmful property damage.
