The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) electoral commission committee has finally made the final election dates public. (The UMA has announced the final election dates – with voting expected to begin next Monday)
The association announced on their social media platforms that the voting process will begin next week, on Monday, June 6, 2022.
They went on to say that the voting will take place over the phone by SMS, and that a code would be provided to voters.
The voting period will last from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The UMA election committee chose to stock internet voting in an effort to minimize costs after revealing a funding shortfall.
According to UMA authorities, they will not have to hire anyone to tally the ballots, making it less expensive than physical voting.
Despite the fact that some contenders came out to oppose the digital vote, it appears that their efforts were futile.
