Brian Ahumuza has steadily progressed from selling garments downtown to developing a corporate empire worth billion, despite the obstacles thrown in his path in this intricate environment. For more than a decade, the Abryanz brand has evolved from a one-stop male apparel grooming center to Kampala’s luxury shop center, where notable and fashion forward men receive first-class fashion care, and is now a company that produces custom made outfits. In November 2019, the brilliant fashion designer and stylist launched his own clothing line, which began with simple tees emblazoned with a bar coded Abryanz logo in several colors. The sale took Kampala by storm as everyone wanted to be a part of the brand, and the inventory quickly sold out and had to be replaced. His second release was the Crested Crane with Uganda Airlines to commemorate the airline’s rebirth. Despite the fact that it was a limited edition, people kept asking him what was next, so during the first lockdown, he came up with the idea of “When No One is Watching,” which received excellent feedback from the public as well.
Abryanz was named one of the most admired African brands in Uganda last week, alongside MTN Uganda, Mukwano, and DSTV, and was named Uganda’s most admired fashion brand. Although the designer was unable to accept his award in person, he showed his gratitude on his social media sites.
