Government-sponsored students at Makerere University have complained to their association, MUGOSA, over the delay in receiving their food and living allowances, which they claim has harmed their academic performance.
The leadership of MUGOSA (Makerere University Government Sponsored Students Association) has written to the university bursar on April 21, 2022, saying that a large number of first-year students and some continuing students have not received their living out and food allowances.
Students have failed to focus on their academics owing to financial difficulties, according to MUGOSA leadership, and they have no hope.
“A significant number of new students, as well as some continuing students, have yet to receive their food and living out allowances.” Pretentious kids are famished, and they have been unable to focus academically as a result of this.
In the same letter, the institution’s administration has given the university a five-day deadline to fix the students’ problems or else resort to other methods of bailing out the students.
