The football regulatory body, FUFA, has announced that all player arrears have been paid off to zero balance, and the federation is no longer due to any player. (FUFA reduces all outstanding player arrears to zero)
“FUFA has cleared all outstanding allowances, salary, and bonuses of the nine National Teams to a zero balance.” No coach or player is owing any money as of Saturday, May 28, 2022. “Such a gesture demands for the team to perform well while representing the country,” stated the FUFA statement.
The Federation also praised the President of the Republic of Uganda, YK Museveni, Minister of Sports and Education Janet Museveni, Minister of State for Sports Hamson Obua, the Uganda Parliament, and the National Council for Sports for their efforts in making this possible.
The u-20 squad that advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations Finals in Mauritania, on the other hand, will earn their bonuses when CAF releases the funds as part of the prize money won by Uganda at the tournament. The Team delegation has already received 50% of the bonus from FUFA sources.
To begin, Uganda will host the CECAFA Women Championship beginning on June 1st at the FUFA Technical Center Njeru. Uganda was drawn in group A with Rwanda, Burundi, and Djibouti, while Tanzania, South Sudan, Zanzibar, and Ethiopia complete an eight-team tournament.
