There has been an increase in the number of female disc jockeys emerging in Uganda in recent months (Kayz gives advice to female DJs is to Sell their work instead of scant clothes.)

Journalist Isaac Kayz Kawalya of Next Media has recommended female deejays to concentrate on perfecting their skill rather than wasting time on excessive make-up and scant attire.

A few of these DJs have had to switch their focus from TV presenting to deejaying.

Etania, Zahara Totto, and Lynda Ddane are a few examples.

Although their efforts to diversify have been applauded, how are their new endeavors faring? Kays thinks otherwise.

The UnCut Kalakata host expressed his thoughts on the rise of female deejays in the +256 on Monday night via Twitter.

He made the point that while gender equality must be valued, female deejays must also put their focus on being experts in their field.

He thinks that the majority of them squander time donning scant clothing and excessive amounts of makeup on their faces in an effort to garner attention, but their deejaying abilities are still lacking.

Additionally, he has seen that most of them favor performing their personal musical tastes over crowd-pleasing tunes.

We all value gender equality, but some female DJs should first become experts in their field.
