SHE hasn’t published a new song in over two years, ‘Nyumirwa,’ a collaboration with her longtime buddy Jose Chameleone.
A lot has transpired in her life over that time, including the tragic occurrences of losing both her parents and brother.
She was also recently named in an online scandal in which she was accused of hurling obscenities and threats at her ex-lover Sully K. Mbuga.
Leila Kayondo apologized to her family, fans, and following in a video and promised to mend her ways. She also pleaded not to be pressured to release new music.
She acknowledged her fans’ desire to hear new music from her, but explained that she will release new projects when she wants, without feeling obligated to do so.
The self-styled Commando dropped a new song called “Singa Namanya” (which translates to “I Wish I Knew”) on Sunday.
In a love ballad sung in Luganda, English, and Kinyarwanda, Kayondo displays lyrical maturity.
