Pice Jovan’s 7-track “Showtime” album listening party at Kololo’s H20 lounge ended prematurely, with Dj Fikie being blamed for disrupting the schedule. (Pice Jovan’s album listening party for “Showtime” ends prematurely)
For about three weeks, the singer had been planning a listeners’ party after officially releasing the album for his fans in an event.
When everyone expected the D-day to be one of singer Pice Jovan’s best days, it turned out otherwise.
DJ Fikie, the owner of the “African Mondays” theme night, messed up the preparations.
Fikie, who had promised to take the stage and start the show at 1:30 a.m., ended up delaying by an hour.
“DJ Fikie, who had invited us to premiere at his African Monday night at H20, changed the program and it wasn’t the one we expected,” one of the GHL music group members explained.
He went on to say that Pice was supposed to perform all seven songs from his album, but he only did two before leaving the stage.
Pice Jovan would not have taken the stage if it hadn’t been for his fans who had come to see the album’s release.
They continued to demand his performance while shouting his name, putting DJ Fikie under pressure. He was later summoned to perform.
After two songs, DJ Fikie introduced another DJ, who also arrived and changed the music to another artist’s songs, forcing Pice Jovan to leave the stage.
Our attempts to reach DJ Fikie for comment were futile because his known phone numbers were not working.
The management label, GHL, stated that the listening party did not take place as planned, but the songs are already available and Pice Jovan fans should keep an eye out for them.
Nyiga, Zzina, Gold Digger, Masanyalaze, Kidogo, Ade, and Different are among the songs on the EP. (Pice Jovan’s album listening party for “Showtime” ends prematurely – Latest News in Uganda 2022)
