Job Summary:
In accordance with WVU strategic direction, ministry integration, and performance standards, the Programme Manager will provide leadership and management of the Area Programmes (AP) and grant projects within the designated district in the development of programme and project designs and plans, capacity building, and facilitate implementation of AP and grant interventions in a manner that empowers communities, children, and local institutions in the ADP and Grant Project Area.
Important Tasks and Responsibilities
Taking charge of teams and individual employees
- Manage, oversee, and improve the ability of program personnel (APs and grant projects) in the creation, management, and execution of high-quality programs:
- Employee capacity building (team and individual coaching sessions on organization programming, performance management, and implementation
- Management of both team and individual staff performance
- counseling, coaching, and mentoring sessions for the entire staff
- Helping program personnel create and keep track of comprehensive implementation plans and activities
- establishing and overseeing staffing goals and priorities
- Increase the spiritual upbringing of the workforce.
Sponsorship Administration
- Management of child sponsorship activities and results effectively
- Management of SOIs in accordance with guidelines for sponsorship.
- implementation of child surveillance in accordance with surveillance standards
- Make that the program’s sponsorship business operations are functioning.
- Support for programs’ use of sponsorship data for informing evidence-based programming, including oversight
- Develop and support the business procedures at the program level.
- Carefully oversee and provide assistance in managing sponsorship performance in accordance with partnership requirements.
Planning and executing operations
- Organize, direct, and support the operational planning and execution of projects and programs for integrated development in the program area.
- assisting in the implementation of corporate strategic directions, guidelines, tools, models, and frameworks
- Control the process of planning, evaluating, and setting baselines.
- Support personnel in helping to integrate M&E procedures into designs, plans, and organizational expectations.
- Monitoring and overseeing the timely and effective accomplishment of annual goals and objectives for APs and grant projects
- Take the initiative in identifying and capturing community needs and ideas that can be funded.
- Create brief PNSF proposals to mobilize resources.
- Management of finances, budgets, and assets
Budgeting
- All programs and projects are budgeted annually in accordance with the planning and budgeting timeframes and requirements.
- Budget management: Project and program expenditures are within approved budgets and anticipated time frames.
- Keep track of, and promptly control, excessive or inadequate spending in accordance with guidelines.
- Financial management – Accountability and management of finances in accordance with policy directives
- Risk management entails keeping an eye on potential threats and reporting them to management.
- Asset management is the process of managing assets in programs in accordance with established policies.

Monitoring and reporting of the program:
- Facilitate efficient tracking, evaluating, documenting, and reporting in accordance with established organizational standards and goals.
- Create a working M&E system at the program level, use the data from the M&E database, and contribute M&E data as agreed-upon schedule to the National Office integrated M&E database.
- Manage the information and documentation processes for AP and grant projects, and make sure the results of the program or project are effectively communicated.
- Provide the Regional Programmes Manager with monthly reports on program and grant project activities (progress against planned activities, expense against expected budget, etc.) in accordance with the agreed-upon timetable.
- Prepare semi-annual and annual reports of program and grant activities (progress toward output delivery and attainment of outcomes, etc.) for the Support Office/donors and the National Office in accordance with the agreed-upon timeline.
- oversee ongoing program evaluations, assessments, and operational research projects, and take the lead in implementing the suggestions to enhance programming.
Advocacy, influencing and networking
- Assist in directing and leading district-level efforts to promote child rights, protection, and well-being
- Determine and direct local advocacy engagements
- Create strategic partnerships, coalitions, and networks around important advocacy concerns.
- Justice and advocacy for children are incorporated into project and program operations.
- Connect local advocacy efforts to the national policy-making process.
- Record the key takeaways from your advocacy work.
- Ensure that all programs adhere to the kid protection policy (background checks, protocols, audit recommendations, child protection in sponsorship etc)
- Encourage and press the local government to make sure that all mechanisms and structures for child protection are operational (formal and informal)
- Encourage kids to take part in all program activities and interventions
- Support personnel and community organizations in ensuring effective allegation and case management focused on children’s justice
- Support personnel for research and activism against breaches of children’s rights
- Ensure employees and stakeholders have the necessary skills for efficient child protection programs.
Education, training, and experience:
- A university degree in development studies or a closely related discipline is required for the position of World Vision Programme Manager.
- Experience in community development for five years
- excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
- excellent written and verbal English language proficiency.
- understanding of human resource and financial management.
- Communication across cultural barriers must be possible.
