The Earth Initiative, which began in April 2015, aims to plant 10,000,000 trees by 2022. This vision responds to the growing concern about climate change, food insecurity, and basic healthcare difficulties.
Hariss International Limited has invested UGX 17 million in the Rotaract Earth Initiative as part of its fundamental sustainability strategy.
This year’s tree planting will take place in ARUA and KOKOBO, under the supervision of a National Forest Authority professional team. The two-day initiative will include the planting of fruit trees in schools such as Onialeku, Muni, and Ediofe. The distribution of recycle bins, as well as a medical camp in Arua town, will provide medical assistance to over 400 attendees.
“As a prominent player in the manufacturing industry, this relationship provides us with an excellent opportunity to continue advancing our environmental sustainability initiatives throughout Uganda.” Hariss International Public Relations Manager Racheal Luwedde stated.
She went on to say that Hariss has a strategic goal of educating Ugandan youth about the importance of environmental conservation.

“We want to instill in the youth a culture of recycling and environmental care from an early age.” Over the years, we have invested over UGX 300 million in simple-to-understand and engaging programs that have helped the youth grasp the essence of tree planting and its purpose, as well as what to recycle, how to recycle, and where to recycle.” Racheal Luwedde provided her voice.
“Hariss International Limited believes in a circular economy in which recycled plastic bottles may be repurposed and used as a source of income for people in our communities.” As a result, we are very happy to be a part of this initiative and look forward to expanding our greening mission throughout Uganda.” She reached a conclusion.
