The 43rd Durban International Film Festival presented its award winners on August 1st, 2022, during a live event that was broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. The Durban International Film Festival award is given to Loukman Ali.
The night of the annual film festival event in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa, saw the announcement of 18 prize winners in total.
When he triumphed over fierce competition to win the award for the Best African Short Short on the night as his film “Sixteen Rounds” accomplished marvels, our own famed Ugandan director Loukman Ali made the country proud
Since that time, Loukman Ali has not yet received the honor he won at the occasion. The good news is that he at last got his gong.
He published the news on his Facebook page after receiving the gong, which includes R10,000 as part of the prize, and expressed satisfaction and joy.
