The Kabagarame Kampala Festival offers a true Bushenyi experience

On Friday, April 29th, a total of 62 cooks, over 3,000 kilos of pork, and assorted ingredients boarded a bus from Bushenyi to Kampala for the Kabagarame Kampala Food Festival, which took place on Saturday, April 30th at the Uganda Museum.(The Kabagarame Kampala Festival offers a true Bushenyi experience)

In collaboration with Bell Lager, the festival brought the charm of western Uganda’s Kabagarame weekly pork market to the capital city, which is located along the Mbarara-Ishaka road in Bushenyi District.

The guests were entertained by DJs Alberto and Mark from Crooze FM while enjoying the delicacies, as the entire experience was designed for Mpola Enjoyments – Bell Lager’s thematic campaign, in which consumers are encouraged to enjoy meat and cold beer in a chill, laid-back manner with friends and family.

“Kabagarame gives opportunities for family and friends to get together and enjoy a taste that is truly Ugandan, and this is a wonderful illustration of Mpola Enjoyments,” Matilda Babuleka, Bell Lager’s brand manager, said of the event.

“Our customers may have a fantastic time as long as they have their loved ones with them; they can enjoy great meat recipes while sipping on a chilled Bell Lager without feeling obligated to go to a bar or club.”

While the majority of the guests were from Western Uganda, the festival drew visitors from all around the country, as well as non-Ugandans who wanted to sample the famed pork market.
