“Fire Dancer,” a collaboration between Swangz Avenue singer Winnie Nwagi and Nigerian singer Slim Prince, was a big hit in Uganda. Not quite in Nigeria.
She believes this is the case with several other collaborations between Ugandan and Nigerian artists, and she accuses the West Africans of being exploiters.
Nwagi revealed during an interview on Galaxy FM that she no longer wants to work with Nigerian artists because they do not promote music in their country.
We enjoy collaborating with Nigerian artists. It’s great because imagine a song with Burna Boy in it. It would be a big hit in Uganda because you would promote it so well (in Uganda).
