Fans packed Kyadondo Rugby Grounds to watch Team Uganda win the Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens 2022 despite the heavy morning rain.
The weather on Sunday morning was not ideal for rugby fans after a successful Day One of the Rugby Africa Men’s 7s competitions on Saturday.
The games were paused at roughly 9:40 a.m. due to severe weather conditions caused by a torrential downpour that began early in the morning.
The action was eventually restarted, and the gates were quickly packed with rugby enthusiasts, many of them were dressed in national colors and ready to cheer on the national squad.
The Rugby Cranes were undefeated throughout the tournament and were set to meet Zimbabwe in the Cup Final.
At the end of the final, the scoreboard read 28-00 in favor of Uganda, and the hosts were proclaimed African champions.
As previously said, it was soon time to enjoy the festivities, as Nile Special had arranged for a star-studded lineup of entertainers to entertain the throng.
Sheebah Karungi, A Pass, An-known Prosper, Eddie Wizzy, DJ Naselow, and other local musicians put on a show while revelers sipped Nile Special beer – the True Reward from the Source – all night.
