Bebe Cool, a musician, has stated that he will not take bookings for gigs paying between $5 million and $10 million.
His dissatisfaction stems from the fact that when Nigerian musicians are booked by local promoters, they get paid up to $3000.
He also mocked promoters that overlook local musicians in favor of bringing in international acts.
“We worked very hard to create this industry.” Now that it has grown, people are turning their backs on us. “Promoters should value us and allow us to enjoy the fruits of our labor,” an enraged Bebe Cool stated.
