Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool, the CEO of Gagamel Entertainment, has backed singer Cindy Sanyu as the finest candidate for the job of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) president. (Bebe Cool reverses course and supports Cindy Sanyu for UMA presidency)
Bebe Cool endorsed Cindy Sanyu during a news conference at his Kiwatule house after previously claiming that he would not vote for both her and King Saha.
He cited grounds to back up his support for Cindy, adding that being UMA president entails regular lobbying of government money, meeting with various stakeholders, and being able to speak fluent and decent English, which Cindy has done since taking office.
Being president entails regular lobbying and interaction with various parties, including the government.
For starters, we require an English-speaking president. Cindy is the only candidate who appeals to me.
Bebe Cool went on to say how enthusiastic he is about Uganda’s music industry, adding that he has witnessed and experienced all of the industry’s ups and downs over the years.
He praised Cindy Sanyu for not resigning from her position during the Covid-19 outbreak, as several other officials did.
I’ve always had a strong interest in Ugandan arts, artists, and the Ugandan music business as a whole. I’ve seen and experienced all of the ups and downs that the Ugandan business has gone through. I’ve also seen some UMA presidents depart ship before their tenure expired due to issues in the arts industry.

Even during the worst Covid periods, Cindy resisted the pressure and kept moving. This tenacity in her is indication that she is up to the task.
