Judith had an affair with former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali, which became public knowledge, and the court has now ordered the estranged wife to stop using her husband’s name.
Rev Christopher Tugumehabwe was granted permission to divorce Ms Tukamuhabwa due to infidelity in a judgement issued by the Kabale Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Tugumehabwe filed a cross-petition after his estranged wife requested that their marriage be dissolved. The wife sought that all of the family property be divided between them during the petition, accusing her husband of harassing and beating her.
The public became aware of Ntagali’s adultery issue in January 2021, when current Archbishop Reverend Stephen Mugalu barred him from performing priestly responsibilities, stating that the Church of Uganda views adultery as evil as homosexuality and that they cannot compromise their moral standards.
