Eddy Kenzo will always remember November 15, 2022, as the day he became the first artist from Uganda to receive a Grammy Award nomination.
The head of Big Talent Entertainment was recognized for his contribution to Matt B’s song “Gimme Love” in the category of Best Global Music Performance.
After hearing about Kenzo’s accomplishment, other famous people, including musicians, fashionistas, socialites, and media figures, joined the rest of the music community to congratulate him.
His pictures with messages underlining how regularly he has carried the Ugandan flag on the international arena were all over social media.

The 65th annual Grammy Awards will be held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023.

After the release of his 2014 track, “Sitya Loss,” Edrisa Musuuza, a.k.a. Eddy Kenzo, gained recognition on a global scale.
He has released four albums altogether, the most recent being “Made in Africa” in 2021.
Additionally, Kenzo has received various accolades from throughout the world, including a 2018 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
2015 BET Award, as well as numerous All Africa Music Awards.
He was the first musician from Uganda to receive a BET award in 2015.
In 2022, he was also the first musician from Uganda to receive a Grammy nomination.
