Ms. Nabuuma, the founder and CEO of the CHIL Artificial Intelligence Lab Group as well as a co-founder of Solerchil Technologies, took the oath as a new executive to serve until 2024.
This occurred during the Commonwealth Youth Forum, which was held in advance of the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) in 2022, with the theme ‘Taking Charge of Our Future.’
“I grew up in Africa, went to school there, and started my business there before expanding to the rest of the world.” “I therefore understand every problem that every entrepreneur faces on their journey, which is why I accepted the Commonwealth appointment,” Ms. Nabuuma says of her new position.
Ms. Nabuuma, as African Regional Representative, will assist the Council’s overall governance in their respective regions. As the official link between the CYC and the African continent, she reports to the General Assembly.
Ms. Nabuuma will also be a Commonwealth advocate for young people and a ‘ambassador’ for the Council in Africa. She will also coordinate and promote the council’s work at the African regional level.
“I’m here to look for ways to help tech entrepreneurs get training, scale their innovations, and connect with investors interested in investing in the African tech ecosystem.” “I prioritize every young entrepreneur because I am one of them.” She took note.
The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC), led by a nine-member executive team, serves as a coalition of national youth councils and other youth-led civil society and private sector organizations from the Commonwealth’s 54 member countries.
