KAGADI, UGANDA – The territorial police in Kagadi district have arrested a private security guard at the district’s Stanbic Bank branch for fatally shooting a female colleague on the bank premises. (At Stanbic Bank – a security guard was arrested after fatally shooting a colleague)
Dickens Ogwoko, 27, is accused of killing Barbra Kiiza, 28, in a shooting on the bank premises on Sunday, July 17.
The deceased was a member of Security Group Africa (SGA) and a resident of Kikuube District’s Kiryaba Bugambe Sub County.
Mr. Andrew Tugume, an eyewitness at the scene of the crime, claims that Ms. Kiiza died from a single gunshot after a loud scream during the scuffle with the private guard.
“We heard one gunshot and rushed to the scene, where we found a woman saying you “killed me” as she lay down in a pool of blood.” “She died a few minutes later,” Tugume said as officers gathered more evidence to aid in the investigations.

Mr. Moses Muzima Kiconco, the Kagadi District Police Commander (DPC), confirmed the incident and said the suspect is now in police custody while investigations into the murder allegations continue.
“There were only two at the workplace, but Ogwoko doesn’t explain whether there was an attacker,” Muzima said. “He is the one we found armed with the company rifle, and a cartridge from the same weapon was recovered at the scene,” Mr. Muzima said.
“Ogwoko will tell us more, and he will be able to reveal the reason for the shooting.”
