The UG Hip-Hop Awards were established to recognize and appreciate the brilliance and hard work of Ugandan hip-hop musicians. MTN has partnered with the platform because of its attractiveness to the youth market.
Allan Wathika, alias Triggah, won the Cypher challenge, with Ibrahim Balunywa, alias Ebrahim Soul’o, and Anena Missy Ochola, aka King Missy finishing first and second, respectively.
In a surprising twist, and in acknowledgement of their efforts and skills, MTN Pulse awarded the other two candidates each a consolation prize of UGX650,000, as well as 20GB Freedom data bundles to all five contestants.
Furthermore, Swangz Avenue, a famous production powerhouse, offered the five final finalists of the MTN Pulse Cypher challenge a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration for free.
