A 40-year-old teacher at Mabale Primary School in Butaleja Sub- County was arrested on suspicion of molesting and sodomizing 18 male students aged 7 to 12. (Butaleja Teacher Arrested on Sodomising Allegations 18 Students)
The teacher allegedly committed the crime between January and May 2022, according to Butaleja territorial police.
Mr David Nambula Magson, the school’s principal, reported the incident,” Bukedi South Regional Police Spokesperson Mr Moses Mugwe confirmed.
He stated that detectives had already taken statements from the complainant as well as at least 13 of the victims.
“Under a general enquiry file, our territorial police in Butaleja are investigating a case of sodomy against the primary school teacher,” Mr Mugwe said.
He went on to say that “medical examinations on the victims would be performed by the regional police surgeon.”

The suspect is being held at Butaleja Central Police Station and will “be charged accordingly after a police investigation.”
“Police went to the crime scene. Mr Mugwe observed, “The scene was well documented.”
The alleged teacher’s act has been condemned by Ms Hajira Namagogwe Butaleja, Resident District Commissioner (RDC).
