According to our sources, Damala Badara Akon, a Senegalese-American RnB musician, returned discreetly to Uganda after receiving an invitation from Ugandan business magnate Hamis Kiggundu nicknamed Ham.
Akon last visited Uganda in 2021, for President Museveni’s inauguration ceremony following his reelection for a sixth term.
The investor who promised to build Akon Metropolis, a futuristic city in Uganda, arrived in the nation last Friday evening and was met by Ham’s team at the airport.
However, it is unclear why the investor’s visit was not organized by the government, as it has been in previous excursions.
