Controversial The romantic relationship of Kenyan singer Akothee and her boyfriend Nelly Oaks has hit a snag after the former called it quits. (Kenya: Akothee and Oaks’ Relationship Ends in Tears Nelly)
The musician and her manager-turned-boyfriend gave the first sign of trouble in paradise a few days ago when they unfollowed each other on social media.
The “Abebo” singer then took it a step further by deleting all photos she took with Nelly while they were still a couple.
Akothee and ex-lover Nelly Oaks had become one of the most popular celebrity couples, frequently singing praises for one another on social media.
According to a statement posted on Akothee’s social media, she is over the relationship and is now focusing on promoting her recently released book and album.
I’ve walked out of other relationships with various ups and downs, so this latest one should come as no surprise.
It’s simply a personal choice; I need time to focus on my newfound happiness with less destruction.
I need to work on myself and my career; I am not prepared for any commitment, questions, or answers to what happened; I simply did not want to hurt anyone. But that is what it is.
Back in Rongo, Mr N and I have a family relationship. In fact, let us respect family and keep family RESPECT.
He is not someone I met on the street. So, for that matter, I wish you all the best in life. COURAGE IS FEAR HOLDING ON FOR A LONGER TIME.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL ME TO ANSWER ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS, BLOGS/MEDIA, BECAUSE I WILL NOT. I WILL ONLY MENTION MY NEW ALBUM/BOOK LAUNCH.
Some critics have speculated that the couple may be staging a publicity stunt to promote her latest projects. (Kenya: Akothee and Oaks’ Relationship Ends in Tears Nelly – celebrity jazz ug)
